2023 (DE) – 1275 Years since the Birth of Charlemagne (D) (UNC)

In the center figures Charlemagne’s monogram over the octagon of Aachen Cathedral. The upper part shows the lettering “KARL DER GROẞE” (Charlemagne), the lower part the year of issue “2023”, the right side the “D” for the issuing country followed by the mintmark of the respective mint (“A”, “D”, “F”, “G” or “J”) and the left side the initials of the artist Tobias Winnen (“TW”). The whole design is surronded by the twelve stars of the European Union on the outer ring.
